Common questions about the server.

How do I install TeamSpeak?

TeamSpeak 3

  1. Go to the TeamSpeak downloads page and, under TeamSpeak 3, pick your system.
  2. Install it and open it. Accept the licence when asked.
  3. Choose a nickname. That's the name everyone on the server sees.

  1. Go to the TeamSpeak downloads page and, under TeamSpeak 6, pick your system.
  2. Install it and open it. You can sign in to a myTeamSpeak account or skip that.
  3. Choose a nickname. That's the name everyone on the server sees.
How do I connect to the server?

The easiest way: click Join the server, and TeamSpeak opens and connects.

The server has a password. TeamSpeak asks for it when you connect. Don't have it, or forgotten it? Get in touch using the contact links at the bottom of the page.

TeamSpeak 3

  1. Open Connections → Connect (or press Ctrl+S).
  2. Enter the address ts.arazez.com, your nickname and the server password, then click Connect.
  3. To save it for next time: Bookmarks → Add to Bookmarks.

TeamSpeak 6

  1. Type ts.arazez.com into the search bar at the top left.
  2. Choose to connect straight away, or save it as a bookmark for next time. Enter the server password when it asks.
How do I talk to the bot?

You can't see the bot in the channel list, because TeamSpeak hides bots. Instead:

  1. Type !bot in the server chat tab, or in your channel's chat.
  2. The bot messages you privately. Send every other command in that private chat.
  3. If your messages stop getting replies (say you reconnected, or the bot restarted), close that chat and send !bot again.

How do perks work?

Once a year there's a donation window to cover the server's running costs. Supporters get perks: every £1 buys a week of control over the server banner and a week over the pop-up message everyone sees when they join, and bigger donations add a 1-hour mute and server admin.

You use your perks by messaging the bot. A week only starts when you tell it to, so there's no rush. Your modal can be up to 200 characters. An important service modal from the owner can interrupt it, but your week pauses while it's up and picks up again once it's gone. Your perks are tied to your TeamSpeak identity (see the next questions), so keep it backed up.

How do I appear on Live now?

If you stream on Twitch, you can be listed on Live now while you're live. Nobody is listed unless they ask.

  1. Send the bot !twitch link yourchannel.
  2. Wait for an admin to approve it. The bot messages you when they do.
  3. Send !twitch show.

Send !twitch hide to come off the list. Either way, your name gets a [LIVE] tag in TeamSpeak while you stream. Changes can take 15 minutes or so to show on this site. Use TeamSpeak on more than one device? Link each one.

How do I back up my TeamSpeak identity, and why should I?

Your identity is how TeamSpeak recognises you. It's a file on your computer, not your nickname. Your perks, admin and channel roles are all tied to it. Reinstall, switch computer or lose it, and they're gone. Back it up now:

  1. Open Tools → Identities (or press Ctrl+I).
  2. Select your identity, click Export, and save the file somewhere safe, like a cloud drive or USB stick.
  3. To restore it later: Tools → Identities → Import, and pick that file.

TeamSpeak 6

  1. Open Settings → Identities.
  2. Choose your identity (usually Default), click Export at the top right, and save the file somewhere safe.
  3. To restore it later: Settings → Identities → Import, and pick that file.

Moving over from TeamSpeak 3? TeamSpeak 6 can import your TeamSpeak 3 identity, so you keep everything.

Never share that file. Anyone who has it can use the server as you, perks and admin included.
